Rocky Mountain National Park: You Yellow-bellied Marmot!

This park is loaded with wildlife. The Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the best and easiest to explore. It’s close to Denver, CO—about an hour northwest from the city and well worth a day trip (at least).

As usual, we did not have much time to visit this park, but it is one I will return to many times. The wild yellow-bellied marmots were quite entertaining, too.

We encountered many different species throughout our experience at Rocky Mountain, but the most exciting ones were the mountain goats.

Make sure to pack a warm layer with you when you head to this spot. You are in the mountains, after all.

  1. Marmots are so cool. I’ve seen them in Yosemite, Yellowstone, RMNP, and Glacier. They’re like little hiking companions for those of us who travel at the higher elevations.
